All our Haylage is produced entirely on our own farms, which guarantees that we have complete control of the grassland management system. This ensures that the grass has been grown in accordance with Codes of Good Agricultural Practice, minimising any adverse effects on the environment and benefiting sustainability. We can also make certain that the grass crop is cut and baled at the optimum time to provide a top quality high fibre, high dry matter haylage and is clean from any weed species, in particular Ragwort and Docks. Also, each bale is traceable to the particular field and date that it was baled.

All grass is specifically grown to be made into haylage, it is not surplus agricultural grass that would be poorer in quality and would fail to produce a top quality, high fibre forage. Specific varieties of Ryegrass and Timothy are carefully chosen are carefully chosen to ensure the resulting haylage is of the best possible quality and suitable for feeding to all horses and ponies. This makes Devon Haylage a consistent, high quality forage product.
